Baird Capital Exits Portfolio Company bfinance
Baird Capital’s Private Equity team recently announced that it has exited its investment in portfolio company bfinance via a secondary buy-out backed by Beach Point Capital. Founded in 1999, bfinance is a privately-owned, financial services firm that provides advice and solutions to asset owners around the globe on the implementation of investment strategy, from fund manager research and selection to portfolio design and monitoring.
Baird Capital invested in bfinance in 2016; throughout the investment period, bfinance’s revenues more than doubled. Diversifying the firm’s client base–by geography and investor type–significantly contributed to the company’s growth. Baird assisted in opening a US office in Chicago and introduced several new institutional US clients. Thanks partly to Baird Capital’s expertise in aiding companies to expand overseas, 50% of the firm’s revenues now come from engagements for investors outside Europe, compared with 39% in 2018.
“It was a pleasure to partner with bfinance over the last six years, and we wish them well as they enter this next stage of their journey,” said Andrew Ferguson, Partner with Baird Capital’s Global Private Equity Team. “The team at Baird Capital is deeply proud of the growth we’ve helped them achieve over our investment period, expanding the services provided and significantly increasing overseas revenues across Europe, the Middle East, Australasia and North America. We look forward to cheering them on as they continue to grow the business.
