Baird Capital Shares Leadership Update
CHICAGO – Jan. 18, 2024 – Today, Baird Capital, Baird's global private equity and venture capital arm, announced that Scott Skie, Chief Operating Officer of Baird Capital, is retiring on February 2, 2024.
As part of this transition, the firm shared that Erin Jelenchick from Baird's Finance team has joined Baird Capital as Global Head of Finance. Katie Schoen will take on additional responsibilities as Global Head of Investor Relations & Operations. Schoen previously served as Director of Investor Relations.

Before joining Baird Capital, Schoen spent 12 years in Baird's Private Wealth Management Research team, overseeing the equity and fixed income analysts supporting Baird's Financial Advisors with portfolio management and security selection using individual stocks, bonds and ETFs. She graduated cum laude from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and international business. She holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations.
Jelenchick is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned her BA and MPA in Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. At Baird since 2006, she has held various roles in the firm's Finance department, including overseeing the back office for Baird Capital, while most recently serving on the senior leadership team. Before Baird, Jelenchick spent the first part of her career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen LLP and Grant Thornton LLP.
Before joining Baird in 2005, Skie served as Chief Financial Officer for LaSalle Capital Group, a Chicago-based middle-market private equity firm. In addition, he worked extensively as a service provider to private equity firms as a member of Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services group. Skie’s experience also includes commercial banking and audit. He received his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
