Baird Capital Announces Team Promotions in Chicago, London Offices

CHICAGO/LONDON – Jan. 10, 2023 – Today, Baird Capital, the direct private investment arm of Baird, announced Katie Schoen’s promotion to Principal, Director of Investor Relations; Becca Schlagenhauf’s promotion to Principal; and Jubril Ayanbunmi’s promotion to Investment Manager. Schoen is part of Baird Capital’s leadership team, and Schlagenhauf and Ayanbunmi are members of the Global Private Equity team.

Schoen oversees investor relations, fundraising, market and strategic initiatives for Baird Capital’s Global Private Equity and Venture Capital Funds. Prior to joining Baird Capital in 2020, she spent 12 years in Baird’s Private Wealth Management Research team, overseeing the equity and fixed income analysts who support Baird’s Financial Advisors with portfolio management and security selection using individual stocks, bonds and ETFs. Schoen graduated cum laude from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and international business. She holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations. Schoen is active in the community having served as past presidents of the CFA Society of Milwaukee, Girls on the Run of Southeastern Wisconsin and is a past chair of Baird’s Women’s Associate Resource Group, Ascend.

Schlagenhauf joined Baird Capital in 2021 and is a member of the Global Private Equity investment team covering technology & services and industrial tech. She is based out of Chicago and serves on the board of portfolio company UGSI Solutions. Before joining Baird Capital, Schlagenhauf was a director at Northwestern Mutual Capital (NMC). Before NMC, Schlagenhauf worked at Baird as an equity research analyst, specializing in medical technology. She received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.A. in economics from the University of Notre Dame. Schlagenhauf is also a CFA charterholder and was named a 2022 “Woman to Watch” by Wall Street Journal Pro: Private Equity.

Ayanbunmi joined Baird Capital in 2021 and is a member of the Global Private Equity investment team covering technology & services and industrial tech. Based in London, Ayanbunmi started his career at PwC in M&A tax and then subsequently joined the valuations team. He then spent two years at Caledonia Private Capital in the portfolio team. Ayanbunmi is a Chartered Accountant and holds a First-Class Honours degree in mathematics with economics from the University of Southampton.
