Schoen Named One of the ‘10 People to Know in Banking & Finance’ by MBJ
Katie Schoen, Baird Capital’s Director of Investor Relations, was recently named one of the ‘10 People to Know in Banking & Finance’ by the Milwaukee Business Journal. The list recognizes southeast Wisconsin executives who are climbing the ladder and making a difference within the industry and in their communities.
A 15-year Baird veteran, Schoen previously served in the firm’s Wealth Solutions Group, a division of Baird Private Wealth Management (PWM), as Manager of Equity and Fixed Income Research until her transition to Baird Capital in 2020. She currently manages Baird Capital’s relationships with current and prospective investors in the United States and abroad, and oversees its communication, sales and marketing activities. Schoen is also involved in broader strategic and new channel development initiatives.
Schoen shared, "My go-to piece of advice is to focus on excelling in the role that you are in while always having awareness of long-term goals. I have found too often people focus on 'what's next?' I want younger professionals to retain that curiosity and drive but to get to the next level excelling at your job is table stakes.
"Then look for opportunities to improve processes, ask for stretch assignments, and find ways both within your company and externally to build your network. Many of my biggest supporters on my career journey were made during those stretch assignments or volunteering for non-profits and professional associations."
