Elucent Medical is an early stage medical device company developing a device that improves the tissue localization process for women undergoing breast conserving surgery (lumpectomy or partial mastectomy). Each year in the US nearly 300,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and currently, most are forced to undergo an invasive "hook-wire localization" procedure prior to surgery to assist the surgeon in locating the tumor. Headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, Elucent Medical brings together again the founders of Neuwave Medical, Laura King, Dan van der Weide, Ph.D., and Fred Lee Jr., proven entrepreneurs in medicine and technoloy.
